Allow user specified day-of-month for monthly pay date

Instead of fixing monthly pay dates to the default "pay run end date plus 4 days", please provide the flexibility for user selectable day-of-month. The ATO is agnostic on whether salaries are paid in arrears or by how many days. The risk of submitting an incorrect pay date to STP will be circumvented by setting the employer's actual regular pay date.

Thanks for posting this. Just to clarify, the pay date in our system is not fixed to pay run end date plus 4 days. This is just a default, but you can set any pay date you like, before or after the end of the pay period, to match your actual payment timing.
Having said that, we understand how manually adjusting the pay date each time you run payroll can be a hassle if your business always pays on the same day of the month.
Right now, we use a default that's relative to the pay period end date so it works consistently across all pay cycles, i.e. daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly. Supporting fixed calendar dates just for monthly pay runs would mean treating that cycle differently, which adds some complexity and may not work for everyone.
That said, we'd love to hear from others who have similar needs. If we see strong interest, we'll definitely consider it.
