Set up recurring pay runs for employees with regular payments

Automatically generate pay runs for employees with fixed hours, rates and/or salary sacrifice for through an initial set up. These pay runs will recur based on payment terms (weekly/fortnightly/monthly/quarterly). Preferably users can nominate which employees are eligible for recurring pay runs. Recurring pay runs should be generated in draft to allow editting.

Just a quick note to let you know that we've started development on a feature that allows employers to optionally carry over payees and their payment components from the previous pay run.

Thanks for outlining this idea. We can see how automatic or recurring pay runs could save time for employers with consistent staff and payment details. Currently, our approach is to simplify pay run creation by drawing on the most recent pay run. When a new one is started, we already prefill key details such as pay cycle and period dates. This process could be extended so that the previous pay run's payees and their payment components (e.g. ordinary time, allowances, deductions) carry over automatically. Would this meet your needs?
If it works for most users, it's a stronger candidate for implementation, since it's simpler than introducing background scheduling and template versioning for recurring pay runs. At the same time, ongoing discussion and feedback will help refine the approach. If users highlight issues or prefer a different solution, we'll consider alternatives.
